Commissioned by the esteemed racing driver and tuner John Coombs, this exceptional Jaguar E-Type Series 1 was reimagined by Italy’s top coachbuilders, Pietro Frua and Italsuisse. The collaboration blended British engineering with Italian design mastery: Frua shortened the nose by 10 inches, reshaped the bonnet’s power bulge into a streamlined air scoop, and added refined faux-grilles, while Italsuisse installed distinctive chrome bumpers, creating a sophisticated yet bold appearance. Unveiled at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show, this model remains a remarkable and debated example of bespoke coachbuilding.
